Kalen Center Groundbreaking

September 03, 2014
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A new development aims to be a respite for foster children.

The Kalen Center began construction at 231 Vaughan Drive in Alpharetta, just off Ga. 9, where it will house Giving Children a Chance (GCAC), Dreamweavers of Georgia and Moeller and Associates, a behavioral health counselling service. All three are dedicated to helping foster children and their families.

"This center will be a state-of-the-art healing center," said Fred Moeller, of Dreamweavers and Moeller and Associates. "We want it to be a shining star in North Atlanta."

Community gets involved with local charity to make a difference in the lives of foster children in Georgia.
Johns Creek, August 11, 2014  -The Rotary Club of Johns Creek donated $1,000 of funds they raised to DreamWeavers of Georgia, a local non-profit that benefits foster children in Georgia.
The Club holds its annual fundraising event every winter, usually in March.  It is called La Dolce Vita Italian Night and is a fun filled night with dinner, dancing, and a silent auction.  Proceeds are used to support club activities and local charities and international projects like the Clean Water projects supported in the Dominican Republic

The Rotary Club of Johns Creek meets every Monday at 12:15pm at the Johns Creek Baptist Church at 6910 McGinnis Ferry Road, directly across the street from Emory Johns Creek Hospital.  Guests are always welcome!
This donation to DreamWeavers will help fund many of the programs that support the "extra" needs of foster children in Georgia that are things that help to build self esteem, form friendships or learn new life skills.  "This donation is important to helping us make foster children's dreams come true", said Fred Moeller of DreamWeavers.  "We are hoping to have even more involvement with the local community so that we can support more of our needed programs for the children such as tutors or camps".
